For men only: The special
łBlack Tie˛ editions were created to announce and
commemorate the Tour release of the 1st edition
Matrix OZIK Black Tie Staff Bags, the HD8 v.2, the
HD9 v.1, the HD10 v.2, and the Altus 96 Low.
Matrix OZIK HD8 ver 2.0: A laser-hitting driver
shaft for the hitters out there. HD8 v.2 is made to
be a more stable, smooth competitor to Prototype/
Voodoo XPP and ShaqX. It has the HD butt geometry
and has the one of the strongest butt sections weave
put in a Tour wood shaft, as well as one of the
stoutest tips. In fact, it takes a back seat only to
the TP7HD V-5ąs in butt stiffness, but has a
slightly stiffer tip than TP7HD. It's thick under
the hands for a Matrix shaft. This is a great
fairway wood shaft, particularly for 3-4 woods,
being closer to Code-8 weight than 8M2.

Matrix OZIK HD9 ver 1.0: You thought the HD8 brought
lasers? HD9 is for players who are looking for a
step towards more stability than 8M2. It can be a
very low launch, very low spin driver shaft, but it
is made for Tour fairway woods. It's very near the
lowest torque Matrix OZIK at 2.0. Like the new HD8,
it's thick under the hands for an OZIK and its a
combo of both
butt and tip stiff. It's a great match,
stiffness-wise to players playing HD8 or TP7HD in
the driver.
- Black Tie Stiff = 92.0g 2.1torque 70butt 86tip
540balance
- Black Tie X = 93.5g 2.0torque 67.5butt 81.5tip

Matrix OZIK HD10 ver 2.0: 100g+ shaft for the most
demanding. HD10 v.2 will hit the Tour May 18. Notice
that as you go from HD8 v.2, to HD9 v.1, to HD10
v.2, the weights go up, but the butt stiffness stays
constant and the tips actually get slightly softer,
while the torque goes down. This is a Matrix
philosophy. By the design method, the flight and
spin will continue to go down. The adjustments in
tip stiffness keep the shafts playable and
comfortable.
- Black Tie X = 107.0g 1.8torque 68butt 84tip

Matrix OZIK Altus 96 Low˛ ver 2.0: This is the
hybrid a lot of OZIK players have been asking for.
It is slightly under 100g, so it is still playable
for a variety of swings and, given the lower launch
window, fills a need on Tour. Yes, Altus˛ is the
Latin word for high˛ and this is the ł96 Low.˛ This
hybrid shaft differs from the old infra˛ (Latin for
low˛) in that it lowers the launch window while
keeping Altus-like spin. The goal is a more boring
flight with enough spin to bring shots down softly.
It's being slotted in play with players looking for
a better feeling low launch hybrid and with players
gaming Altus in their first hybrid and now 96 Low in
their shorter, higher lofted second or third hybrid.
The following
Black Tie parts are available:
HD8 in S, SG and X.
HD9 in SG or X
HD10 in SG or X.
Altus LT HB in S, SG or X.
